It's Not About the Money

I have been a Professional Organizer
since 2005. I have many previous years experience in life coaching and
psychology, as well as Industry Training through the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). This coming January 2012, I will have earned
my designation as a NAPO Golden Circle Member, for the number of years served in the industry.

Over the years I have worked with many levels of homeowner projects, from simple decluttering and space planning, to various
levels of Hoarding, including appearing on A&E TV Show Hoarders.
That being said, it's not about the money. Being a great Organizer comes from a passion to help others overcome certain challenges
in their home and in their lives, along with experience, training,
and patience.

I recently received a request from a someone who desperately
wanted to help their mother with hoarding issues that have gotten
out of control. At first you may think, what an opportunity to charge for what could very well be many hours of work. But ... it's not about the money. For many experienced, and passionate Professional Organizers like myself, it is about ethics and the ability to help connect someone to a better life. After hearing the various circumstances surrounding this person's mom and her challenges, I knew this was something that required more than just simply organizing assistance, that ethically would be unfair to attempt solo. As a Professional Organizer we can help many types of people who are "open" to change, but there is little we can do for those who are "unwilling" to recognize their challenges. In this particular situation it was necessary to look into resources that could provide a Psychologist as part of the process in overcoming her mom's challenges, so that a Professional Organizer could work together as a 'Team" in helping her mom move forward with the process of reaching a new and more healthier chapter in her life, both physically and mentally.

Our jobs as a Professional Organizer is to help recognize and address situations, and advise from experience and training, the best solutions on how to assist the people in our communities, achieve a better life for themselves and their families. Getting paid to do this, is a perk and blessing, for sharing our talents, passion, and wisdom with those in need.
